Pet Supply Donations Being Collected

April 13, 2006 (Lafayette, LA) - The Junior League of Lafayette will partner with area Girl Scouts Troops in "Feeding our Furry Friends," a pet supply drive to benefit area animal shelters. The participating shelters are Animal Aid for Vermilion Parish, Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), Cajun Animal Aid and the Humane Society of Louisiana-Acadia Chapter. The event will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at PetSmart, 5700 Johnston Street.

Items needed by the shelters for kittens/cats and puppies/dogs include:
Dog and cat food, puppy and kitten food, powdered puppy and cat food, canned dog and cat food, toys, leashes, collars, shampoo, and brushes, pet taxis, heating pads, litter pans, old towels, old blankets, paper towels, trash bags, dishwashing liquid, scrub brushes, bleach, rubber gloves and mops.
