Partnering with nonprofits throughout the Acadiana area is an important aspect to the Mission of Junior League of Lafayette. Each year, several Members of the League are selected to serve as representatives on the boards of directors of other nonprofit organizations. As volunteers well trained in nonprofit operations, Junior League Members can offer advisory support to these outstanding organizations. League Members understand how committees and boards function and work together to achieve a common mission. Junior League of Lafayette is also represented in Leadership Institute of Acadiana through the active involvement of Junior League of Lafayette President and President-Elect. Junior League of Lafayette has received the Outstanding Nonprofit Award from Better Business Bureau and was recently recognized as “Outstanding Philanthropic Organization” awarded by Planned Giving Council of Acadiana.
