Junior Quiz Bowl
Students from 13 schools participated in weekly competitions from September to March at Lafayette High School, Junior League of Lafayette's newest host school for the League’s Junior Quiz Bowl matches. Twenty four teams answered questions about history, geography, math, science, popular culture, and other topics. Junior Quiz Bowl Committee members were moderators, time keepers, and scorers each week with assistance from the Lafayette High School Beta Club.
After weeks of competition in the fall and spring a final tournament was held in March. Teams played single elimination matches until only two teams were left: Episcopal School of Acadiana and Edgar Martin. The winning team was Edgar Martin narrowly beating ESA by just 15 points. Junior League of Lafayette has been promoting academic excellence by organizing and implementing this program for over 15 years.
Junior League provides the schools with six weeks of competitions in the fall and six weeks in the spring. The weekly competitions are held on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6 p.m. at Lafayette High School located at 3000 W. Congress Street in Lafayette, Louisiana, 70506.
