The Junior League of Lafayette, whose mission is to promote voluntarism; to develop the potential of women; and to improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, recognizes that voluntarism is an essential component of society.

The Junior League of Lafayette supports the goal of fair and equal opportunities for women and is committed to ensuring that women have the opportunities and services essential for their intellectual, economic, social, mental, physical and emotional well-being. The Junior League of Lafayette further recognizes that women must have access to adequate health services in order to safeguard their physical and mental health.

Junior League of Lafayette Position Statement on Children

Recognizing that children are our most precious natural resource, that every child deserves the right to develop to his or her full potential, that the family is essential to the nurturing and development of the full potential of each child, that children are not able to speak on their own behalf, and that while the cost of caring for our children may be great, the cost of their neglect is much greater, the Junior League of Lafayette supports the right of all children to have the opportunities and services essential to their physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth.
